We are very excited to announce that the Operating Engineers Training Institute of Manitoba Inc. has officially relocated to its new facility at 24095 PR 213 in Sunnyside, Manitoba. Our trade-partner Open House event on September 5th was a resounding success, featuring representative guests from trade unions and funders of our Heavy Equipment Operator program. Also in attendance was the honorable Jamie Moses, Minister of Economic Development, Investment, Trade, and Natural Resources.
In his speech, Minister Moses emphasized the significance of such facilities for Manitoba’s construction industry, highlighting their role in fostering strong relationships with unions and ensuring a skilled workforce. He stated that: “the modern amenities and classroom are impressive and will create a fantastic space for innovation and collaboration as the next generation of crane and heavy equipment operators get trained.” The new institute marks a vital step forward in enhancing training opportunities for Manitobans across the province.
As we settle into our new home, we are committed to expanding our training programs and equipping all of our students with the skills they need to thrive in the workforce. We look forward to building a stronger future together!
