The Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) course is 240 hours long, consisting of 80 hours of theory and 160 hours of practical training on various pieces of heavy equipment. This seat time is split equally between the heavy equipment and state-of-the-art equipment simulators. The curriculum is formatted to meet all provincial requirements across Canada. The main goal of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to become entry-level operators.

Students of the HEO program are provided with the following:

  • All course materials
  • PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) and course materials, except for CSA-approved safety boots.

Upon graduating, course attendees are issued a Certificate of Achievement as an Entry Level Heavy Equipment Operator including safety certifications.

The Dozer, TLB and Excavator are Red Seal Trades.
