DESCRIPTION:This course is aimed at new operators\, teaching safe and effective skid steer operation or operators wishing to refresh their ticket. \nIt features a mix of classroom theory and hands-on practice. \nStudents will learn operational principles\, worker duties\, responsibilities\, and safety procedures. \nStudents receive a certificate valid for 3 years upon completion.

SUMMARY:HEO Program Assessment Day
DESCRIPTION:Each student must pass the assessment in order to register for a spot in the 6-week Heavy Equipment Operator program. \nThese are the steps:\n1) View the OETIM information session in person or online. \n2) Complete the FREE Assessment.\nThe assessment consists of a written test with grade-9 equivalent math and reading comprehension questions. Following the test\, a staff member will conduct a short interview to gauge an individual’s suitability for the HEO program.  \n3) Receive a Letter of Acceptance\nOnce the assessment is complete\, a letter of either acceptance or rejection will be sent to your email. This letter compiles the results of the assessment test and interview. If an acceptance letter is received\, it is valid for a year from the initial assessment date. This allows enough time to apply for a spot in one of our HEO courses run throughout the year.  \n4) Secure Your Funding\nEven though an acceptance letter is received\, it does not mean you have secured a spot. All interested students must secure funding to confirm their spot in an HEO course. This means paying for the course in full\, or having an organization send OETIM an official letter confirming the intention to pay for a student’s tuition.\n\n5) Follow Up With OETIM\nOnce accepted\, prospective students should keep in touch with OETIM staff regarding their intentions. \nWe are here to help you secure a spot in one of the HEO courses.
