Entry-Level: Basics of Heavy Equipment
The OETIM offers a heavy equipment operator course of 6 weeks or 240 hours (80 hours of theory and 160 practical training). We are registered as a private vocational school in the province of Manitoba and recognized as an educational institution by Human Resources Development Canada. Therefore, we are authorized to issue T2202A forms for income tax purposes.
How It Works
You are required to attend an assessment first. Please see the assessment dates every month on our calendar. Then, you can register online or call our office at (204) 775-7059.
The information session takes place just before your assessment. It will explain course costs and available funding and describe how the course will be delivered.
The assessment occurs right after the information session, comprising a quick, comprehensive test and a short informal interview. The whole process takes about 45 minutes. Once your application has been submitted, you will receive a letter of acceptance and an invitation to enroll in the heavy equipment course. Please note once you receive a letter of acceptance, this letter is valid for a while, and you can apply for any HEO course throughout th775e year.
Attending the information session/assessment is free, and you must register before attending.
Note: We accept special appointments if the current time slots do not fit your schedule. However, you must contact our office during business hours to make arrangements.
