HEO TRAINING
Join Manitoba’s longest-running Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) training program, trusted by thousands of graduates. What sets us apart from other similar programs is our focus on delivering a fully immersive learning experience—our intensive 6-week course is structured with no wasted time. Students train on actual equipment in real-world construction environments, supported by advanced simulators to ensure continuous, hands-on engagement from start to finish.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
80 Hours of Theory
The program begins with in-class instruction covering 16 curriculum modules, each with a corresponding test. Students earn essential safety certifications required on job sites and complete a Soft Skills and Employment Readiness course to prepare for the workforce. Graduates leave with up-to-date certifications and a professional resume, ready to succeed in the industry.
Certifications include:
- Basic Rigging
- First Aid/CPR Level C
- CSTS 2020
- Ground Disturbance 201
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- WHMIS
160 Hours of Practical Training
The hands-on portion takes place on a simulated construction site with varied soil conditions. Students participate in daily safety meetings, equipment inspections, maintenance, and field exercises. We prioritize safety and ensure all activities mirror real-world expectations, providing students with a hands-on, realistic training experience. Students will split their time between operating the equipment and using the corresponding CAT© simulators, allowing for comprehensive skill development. This high level of engagement sets our program apart from similar programs in Manitoba.
